February, 2010

On January 17, 2009, I became a Past-President of the National Academy of Forensic      Engineers at their Meeting in Austin, Texas. I passed the gravel on the Richard Brugger, PE of Erie, PA.  During my Presidency, the Web Site was upgraded by my Web Site Chairman Richard Ziernicki, PE, PhD, Director and Owner of Knotts Laboratory in Denver, CO.   Dr. Ziernicki's staff of IT techicians brought the Web Site into the 21st Century.

In January, 2010, Mark A. Whelchel, PE became President of NAFE and I became 2nd Past President and Richard Brugger, PE, 1st Past President.  The next Meeting of NAFE is in Orlando, Florida.

I have been using a Sony Digital camera for on site investigations and inspections of evidence.  It is smaller and weighs much less than my Nikon cameras.  The close-up and 15X zoom of the camera with vibration reduction & aided focus eliminate the need to change lenses.  The 3 inch color monitor which can be separated from the camera does not interfere with a hard hat or breathing protection equipment.  I can leave my reading glasses on while photographing! Sony is now selling an upgraded model with 20x zoom, better close-up focus and better close-up flash.

Wiley has published a new Encyclopedia of Forensic Science, and the Publisher (John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.) has published it online at  http://mrw.interscience.wiley.com/emrw/9780470061589/home/

I am the author of the Article on Forensic Electrical Engineering.  My manuscript was accepted after several reviews and the Encyclopedia has been published in 5 Volumes and is now online.  Wiley has graciously permitted me to post a pdf. file of it.
